Holy Grail Fall Beer Dinner

PLANO – First beer dinner tried at this well-established location. Bit of an informal format, seated individually instead of a hosted event.

Outstanding menu with the beef rib entrée easily the star of the evening. However, the best pairing was the persimmons and witbier, an unexpected standout.

Amuse: Smoked catfish paté, sourdough pancakes (Johnny cakes), cured egg yolk. Paired with Ayinger Celebrator.

Appetizer: Grilled octopus, bean purée, squash, pomegranates. Paired with Independence Redbud.

Salad: Mixed greens, persimmons, hazelnuts, garlic vinaigrette. Paired with Einstock White.

Entrée: Beef rib (dry rub, slow cooked for 36 hrs), toum, Romano beans. Paired with TUPPS Full Grown Hombre.

Dessert: Apple stack cake with whipped cream. Paired with Austin Eastciders Spiced Cider.
